Ingredients
4 cups diced apples, peeled or not
1/2 cup chopped dates
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 large egg
1 tablespoon butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla extract
3/4 cup chopped, toasted walnuts or pecans
2 cups hot water
Directions
In a large bowl, stir together all ingredients; do not over beat. Pour into a greased baking dish that will fit in your slow cooker, cover with foil and tie with string.
Place baking dish on a trivet or rack in the slow cooker with two cups hot water. Cover and cook on high heat for 2-1/2 to 3-1/2 hours or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
